Stephen Russell Beecher Born January 13, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI, passed from this earth April 14, 2007, at the age of 87, while visiting in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend, Beverly (nee Timm) Beecher, and his children, Karen (Terry) Yahr of Charleston, WV; Richard (Sue) Beecher; and Janet (Jerry) Minessale of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Survived by sisters, Louise (George) Perlick, Nokomis, FL; Margaret Watson, South Milwaukee; Barbara Beltran, Diamond Bar, CA; and Jean (Gerald) Kloppenburg, Cudahy. Stephen was the proud and loving grandfather of Joshua (Tiffany) Yahr, Micah Yahr, Caitlin Yahr, Lauryn Beecher, and Matthew Beecher; and the delighted great-grandfather of Hannah Yahr. Also survived by many family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Margaret (nee Cherti) and George Beecher. Stephen grew up on Rutland Ave and graduated from Cudahy High School. He began his military career in 1938 by enlisting in the National Guard. He served in the Pacific Theatre during WW II in the 121st and 129th Field Artillery. During Korea, he served with the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a Life member of the Alonzo Cudworth Legion #23 and the 32nd Div Red Arrow Veteran's Assoc. A memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home SUNDAY, May 6, 2007 at 4 PM. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 - 4 PM.
