Elvis ballad tops charts

Elvis Presley's ballad "Don't" becomes his ninth No. 1 single since "Heartbreak Hotel" first topped the charts in 1956. He recorded "Don't" in September while cutting his first Christmas album. Elvis would achieve a record-breaking 17 top singles: to this day, he remains second only to the Beatles in number of chart toppers.
